Meet the Team

A local lad, Alex was born and raised in Market Harborough, went to Leicester University and qualified with the local office of a national firm. After a spell as manager with a smaller firm in Northampton, Alex became a director of Somerbys in Spring 2012. Meeting, advising and helping people is what drives him during office hours. Outside of work Alex enjoys driving his 50’s Morris and tinkering with a 60’s Vespa. Alex is married with two young children and a French Bassett hound called Daisy.

Marcus joined the management team in Summer 2012 and became a director in 2014. Having qualified with a local firm in 1998, Marcus has gathered many years of general practice experience acting for owner managed businesses of all sizes throughout the East and West Midlands. Marcus prides himself in being approachable and able to communicate at all levels. In his spare time Marcus enjoys tinkering with cars, making “stuff” and spending time with his family.

Adam joined Somerbys in 2014 after changing to a career in accountancy – he progressed through his studies and is now one of our accounts and audit managers. Adam enjoys the variety of working in practice and strives to deliver quality service to our clients which involves looking at client needs, planning ahead, reviewing and supervising and providing advice and support. Adam enjoys watching live sport and in his early twenties he travelled around the world for a year. He still loves to travel…but holidays with his wife are very different these days with their two young kids!

Cheryl is one of our audit and accounts managers. Cheryl started as a trainee accountant in 2003 and has progressed through the ranks, gathering lots of general practice experience along the way. Cheryl has been with us since 2011 and has in the last two years been promoted to her current role and does a great job of co-ordinating our services, carrying out file reviews and providing technical accounting support. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her young family of three boys and is a keen runner. As a member of a local club, Cheryl competes in league races and ran the London Marathon in 2019!
